Today was even more spectacular than yesterday. I spent the morning catching up on the blogs then I went down for a swim in the 76 degree Fahrenheit crystal clear water of Clear Water bay! I was a little out of swim shape so I only swam about 400 meters and turned around. Then I preceded to lay down on a cot that was partly submersed on the sandy shore. I feet hung off the sides so I didn’t overheat as I worked on the cyclist tan or rather lack thereof tanned skin on my torso up to my neck. It was also pointed out that I have tan lines where me chin strap goes on the side of my neck.
Craig’s wife Willa showed up in the afternoon and more or less started happy hour by bringing down some beer for everyone. That kept going for a quite a while and eventually moved into the cabin where we drank while Craig and Willa slaved over dinner. We had some great conversation that night and after force feeding delicious food out night it was decided we would go for a night cruise on the larger of the two boats.
This boat was more of a cruiser and had two inboard Volvo inline 6’s in the back which provided a lot of power and a huge wake. It was dark by the time we got going so we were relying on some markers and a form of gps and radar. We of course took the two dogs Murphy and Guinness to keep us company. The only problem was Murphy was leaning into me and I was just stuffed with dinner. As the boat snaked between islands and bent around points the darkness deepened until the stars where in view including the little dipper. The night air was on the warmer side of things and the horizon still had enough light to give the viewer an idea of the massive scale of this lake.
Again another day in paradise. I can’t thank Craig and Willa enough for being such gracious hosts and sharing their beautiful cabin and lake front property with me. I seriously could spend a whole summer up there!
